Subaru has announced 2022 WRX will start at $ 29,105 if it arrives at U.S. dealerships this spring.

The 2022 WRX, which costs $ 1,610 more than its predecessor, has been completely redesigned and will compete with competitors such as $ 30,995 Volkswagen Jetta GLI and $ 31,900 Hyundai Elantra N.

The beginning of the finish – the base finish, which has a hexagonal grille supported by LED headlights. The model also has an exhaust system with four stainless steel exhaust pipes and 17-inch alloy wheels wrapped in summer tires.

Once in the cabin, drivers will find a 7-inch infotainment system compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It is joined by a second 7-inch display that provides access to car settings and climate control.

Other subtleties include an automatic climate control system, silver metallic finish and a leather steering wheel with red contrasting stitching. Buyers will also find fabric upholstery, reclining rear seats and “sporty design appliances” with a color LCD display.

Moving up the finishing ladder is $ 31,605 WRX Premium. It has a slightly revised exterior with LED fog lights, a rear spoiler and large 18-inch alloy wheels.

Bigger changes are taking place in the cabin, as buyers will find “premium seat fabric”, dual-zone automatic climate control, alloy pedals and an 11.6-inch infotainment system with a split screen setting. The model also comes with keyless entry, push-button ignition and all-weather package that includes heated front seats, heated side mirrors and a glass cleaner. Speaking of packages, customers can get an electric hatch and a premium Harman Kardon audio system with 11 speakers for an additional $ 1,875.

Buyers looking for more luxury can choose WRX Limited, which starts at $ 35,995. It adds LED headlights that respond to the steering, side mirrors with built-in turn signals and an electric sunroof. The model also has additional driver assistance systems, such as rear-wheel drive alert and blind spot detection with lane-change assistance.

Interior upgrades are relatively limited, but there’s a 10-way electric driver’s seat as well as Ultrasuede accents. In addition, the model received the aforementioned Harman Kardon audio system, as well as GPS navigation with a three-year free map update.

At the top of the range is the all-new WRX GT. It starts at $ 41,895 and has exclusive 18-inch alloy wheels with a matte gray finish. Elsewhere, there are Recaro front seats with Ultrasuede upholstery, as well as red contrasting seams and embossed “Recaro” logos on the backs.

These updates are joined by electronically controlled dampers with Comfort, Normal and Sport settings. There is also a driving mode selection system that allows the driver to “configure up to 430 different tuning options to feel the steering, damper settings, [and] SI-Drive settings.

Regardless of the equipment selected, all Subaru WRXs have a 2.4-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine that develops 271 hp. (202 kW / 275 hp) and a torque of 258 lb-ft (349 Nm). It is connected to a six-speed manual transmission and a symmetrical all-wheel drive system.

Customers can also choose the Subaru Performance Transmission, which is a bit of a funny name for CVT. It comes standard on the GT line and is available in all other configurations. While it won’t appeal to enthusiasts, the CVT adds an EyeSight driver assistance system from Subaru as well as adaptive cruise control.

The CVT variant costs between $ 1,890 and $ 2,250 depending on the finish you choose, but it should be noted that the WRX Premium variant has a transmission oil cooler. Equipped with CVT WRX Limited goes even further by adding reverse automatic braking.

Note: Prices excluding the $ 995 destination fee in most markets are expected in Alaska, where it is $ 1,145
