Williamston, SC (Fox Carolina) – Breaking into a house, shooting and fighting with pistols led to the fact that one couple in Williamston lived on the border, when detectives are working on arrests.

Susan Owings and her fiancé were asleep on Jan. 27 when three people entered their home uninvited.

Surveillance footage shows three people entering the open garage and right next to the kitchen door. Immediately after entering the house the first two men begin to aim a rifle and two pistols.

The trio immediately made their way to the bedroom, where the trouble intensifies.

“They came up from each side of our bed, pulled me out of bed on the floor, and one of them hit Travis with a gun,” Owings said.

She said Travis was able to seize a gun from one of the suspects. The fire was exchanged, Owings says she was wounded in the arms and chest. She spent two days in hospital, including surgery, recovering.

In addition to the scares, the house also has bullet holes as a daily reminder of what happened that day

The house has several cameras.

From the beginning to the end of the incident it took a little over a minute.

We asked if they took anything during the invasion.

“They only had a camera in the dining room,” Owings said. “So we think it’s someone who knew the place because the camera; they might not know it was there, especially in the dark. ”

This couple feels upset because of what happened at their house on Leicester Road. The place, which was known for its comfort and tranquility, is a harsh reminder of the evil lurking in the shadows of darkness.

“Every night I wake up, probably ten times. I panic when I hear a noise – I think when dogs jump out of bed, it means someone comes into the room, “she said.

The Anderson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the case. They could not give us any new details because it is active and they do not want to “stain the investigation”. However, they are asking anyone with information to call the Crime Closure Service at 1-888-CRIME-SC.

The couple is offering a reward of $ 5,000 for information that will lead to the disclosure of the case. If you know something, you can call the sheriff and the reference file № 2022-01108.
