NEW YORK (AP) – Broadway theatergoers will have to keep masks until at least May 31, the Broadway League said Friday.
The announcement comes as the United States copes with the COVID-19 surge, with the number of cases rising nationally and in most states after a two-month decline.
One change in policy is that Broadway theaters will soon leave a test for vaccination to theater owners.
Schubert’s organization, which owns 17 theaters, said it would not require proof of vaccination from May 1.
The Broadway League will announce future camouflage protocols in May.
Broadway’s policy on masks and vaccinations has been in effect since July 30, 2021.
