Several spy images have surfaced Henchy the latest electric vehicle, dubbed the 6, is shaped like a sleek SUV.
The electric car company, which is owned by the giant Evergrande development group, has not yet started production or deliveries of its first model, the 5, but is already working on its next electric car.
Henchy first showed off the 6 back in 2020 as a futuristic-looking concept. This is our first chance to see a pre-production version of the vehicle, and while it’s possible that it will receive some changes before it hits the market, it looks mostly ready to roll off the assembly line.
He shared these images on the Internet China car news and show Hengchi 6 from all sides. Up front, we see a pair of aggressive headlights that neatly connect to the hood. Like the Hengchi 5, the 6 also lacks the traditional radiator grille, but has a gloss black lower grille.
Viewed from the side, the difference between the Hengchi 5 and the Hengchi 6 is obvious as the latter has a more coupe-like design with a smoother roofline and unique fascia. The rear three-quarter angle of the 6 is also very intriguing, as it reminds us of the Renault Arkana and even has similar LED taillights to the French SUV.
The interior of the Hengchi 6 will be almost identical to the 5. This means that the dashboard will be dominated by three screens, not unlike the “hyperscreen” developed by Mercedes-Benz. These screens consist of a central 14.6-inch display, flanked by a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.25-inch display in front of the passenger.
Powertrain details have not been confirmed, but the 6 is expected to be sold with a single electric motor that produces 204 hp. and 254 lb-ft (345 Nm) of torque.
