Thousands of golf balls wash up on a California beach after a winter storm
Golf balls have started washing ashore on Carmel Beach in California. Residents are collecting many of the swords that washed up on the beach after the recent winter storms. Conal Jones of Carmel Valley collected golf balls for several days after the rain stopped. “This is my third day here and I’m getting 50 to 100 in half an hour,” Jones said. “There are many more and they will continue to be pushed up the beach, so there are many.” Many of the balls likely came from the various golf courses along the rivers and streams in the Carmel area. Recent storms have raised water levels to levels where swollen rivers could push idle golf balls all the way to the ocean. Watch the video above to see the unique sight.
