Toyota is preparing to launch 2023 bZ4X in the United States this spring, and the company announced a new charging partnership with EVgo.
Thanks to the bundle, customers who purchase or rent a bZ4X will receive one year of unlimited free charging at all public EVgo charging stations across the country. They will have plenty to choose from, as the company has more than 800 fast DC charging points as well as thousands of tier 2 charging stations. They are located in more than 68 metropolitan areas in 35 states.
Although there are still a number of gaps in their network, the company noted that more than 130 million people in the United States live within 10 miles (16 km) of the fast EVgo charger. EVgo He went on to say that their network will grow in the future as “it is planned to deploy approximately 16,000 fast charging kiosks by 2027.”

Putting this aside, bZ4X owners will be able to use their smartphone to download Toyota software and subscribe to the EVgo offer. The app can also be used to search for EVgo stations and initiate a free charge.
Toyota Motor North America’s vice president of EV charging solutions, Christopher Young, said: “We want our bZ4X customers to enjoy quality ownership as smoothly and hassle-free as possible. Working with EVgo, the nation’s largest public fast charging network, will help give bZ4X owners access to fast and reliable charging there and when they need it. ”
The entry-level BZ4X has a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 71.4 kW / h, which is powered by a front-mounted electric motor that develops 201 hp. (150 kW / 204 hp). Customers can also switch to the two-wheel drive version, which features a larger battery with a capacity of 72.8 kW / h, as well as a combined capacity of 215 hp. (160 kW / 218 hp).
Toyota has not released full specifications, but has previously stated that the front-wheel drive version will have a range of up to 250 miles (402 km). The all-wheel drive model is likely to have a range of more than 220 miles (354 km), judging by the figures for similar Subaru Solterra.
