Twitter has been offering Twitter Spaces for a while, and they seem to be doing well. However, it seems the company wants to offer another audio-focused service. According to Fr. tweet from @wongmjane, Twitter can also bring a special tab for podcasts.
Twitter can work on a special tab for podcasts
It seems that almost every platform is turning towards podcasts. Spotify made the biggest push for podcasts by adding studios and recruiting companies. He now has a thriving podcast platform. Other companies, including Facebook, LinkedIn and even YouTube, have put some time and effort into becoming the next place for podcasts.
Twitter could become the next platform on this list, thanks to a new screenshot that has appeared. The leak comes from developer Jane Manchun Wong, and it shows what looks like a future podcast tab on Twitter. The screenshot shows the mobile version of Twitter with a selection of tabs below. The third tab at the bottom shows the microphone icon, which represents the podcasts tab.
First, there are no podcasts on the screen. This may mean that the company is still working on developing the actual feature. It is still necessary to fill this tab with podcasts.
Something is missing on this tab
If it seems that something is missing, it is because something is missing. In the screenshot we see that there is everything except the Twitter Spaces tab. This is especially true because a few months after its release, the Twitter space has gained some activity. The fact that we don’t see the “Spaces” tab may point to a few things.
First, it may mean that the days of Spaces are numbered. It is possible that Twitter may abandon this feature altogether. It is impossible to say whether the Spaces feature draws him into these numbers Twitter wants it.
Another possibility is that Twitter will rename Spaces into podcasts. That would make sense, because Space is mostly an impromptu podcast. You’re an audience of conversation between a lot of people, so it’s little different from a true podcast.
It is also possible that Spaces will become a subsection on the Podcast tab. Twitter can add valid podcasts to the platform, but it may have gaps as a section on the Podcasts tab. Instead of seeing gaps at the top of the ribbon, they will be on the Podcasts tab. Now it’s just a screenshot, so it’s hard to say if it will. Only time will tell.
