Guillermo Rigondo’s result against Vincent Astralabio

41-year-old Cuban Guillermo Rigando suffered the second defeat in a row, losing to a close but unanimous court decision to the Filipinos Vincent Astrolabe in Dubai Marina in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
Three judges rated the match 95-94 in favor of Astralabia (17-3, 12 KOs), and a knockdown in the eighth round was the result of a victory over Rigando (20-3, 13 KOs), a qualified former world champion.
Within ten rounds Astrolabio forced Rigondo to run out of resources by landing his right hand on the elusive Cuban. Rigando, who broke away from John Riel Casimir with a tight court decision.
Astrolabio found the answer to the puzzle by cutting off the ring and striking harder.
With this triumph Astrolabio won the WBC international title.
