WhatsApp is constantly updating its app in terms of features. Although programs like Telegram are already ahead when it comes to some features, WhatsApp is playing catch-up here.

Now the latest report from WABetaInfo shows that WhatsApp has added another handy feature to its app. Specifically, WhatsApp has introduced a shortcut to finding messages in the app for an even better experience.

Using this shortcut, users will be able to find specific messages from a chat or group. While this may seem familiar for the messaging option that already exists in WhatsApp, it works a little differently.

According to the report, users will be able to search for specific messages using this WhatsApp message search shortcut right on the personal contacts and groups information page.

This means you don’t need to open a personal chat or group chat and then click on the 3-dot icon and select the search option to search for messages.

The WhatsApp message search shortcut was spotted in beta 2.22.6.3

WABetaInfo noticed this WhatsApp search shortcut in the latest beta version of Android 2.22.6.3. What’s more, the feature now extends to a small group of testers.

However, there is a small glitch even for those small groups of testers for whom the WhatsApp message search shortcut feature works. It is noteworthy that the label sometimes does not appear.

After all, it’s an integral part of beta testing. So, if you also encountered this problem in the beta version of WhatsApp, then you are not alone.

Also, there is no official information on when WhatsApp will give this feature to the stable version of the app. It is likely that this feature may appear soon.

Recently the app picked up updated voice call interface, which introduced a rounded gray background. It shows the contact name, profile number and photo, and the duration of the call from above.

WhatsApp is expected to get a bunch of other features. This includes the ability to send a response to a message. Once the feature is launched, users will be able to respond to messages with one of six emojis.

Other meta-apps, such as Instagram and Facebook, allow you to respond to a message with any smileys to your liking. Therefore, this is a limited feature. However, he may be able to use any emoticon with future updates.
