What are Nopon coins for?

Before you start looking for these special coins, you should know what you will get from them. U Xenoblade Chronicles 3there are two main ways to use Nopon Coins: exchanging them for Nopon Coin X-Change to directly upgrade your characters, or bypassing the material requirements for crafting gems.

To find the Nopon Coin X-Change, you will need to find a secret merchant in the Fornis region. You can find them by going to the east side of the area to the Raptor Perch landmark where you’ll find a cave. While exploring the cave, you will start a quest called “Thrill of the Hunt” and you will have to complete some simple puzzles to get to the end of the cave. Once you get to the other side, you will be able to find and interact with X-Change.

Using coins to upgrade your character is even easier. Go to your character’s menu and click I on the class you want to upgrade.

While you can do a lot with these coins, they are best used to upgrade characters, purchase powerful items from X-Change, and perhaps speed up your gem generation. The other uses, while not a waste, aren’t the best use given the work you have to put in to get them. At the same time, don’t hoard them. You can only hold 99 items in the game and if you get more while they are full they will automatically be sold for regular gold.

How to get Nopon coins

There are several ways to get Nopon Coins Xenoblade Chronicles 3, but they all take some time. We already mentioned the possibility of simply finding them in chests, but here are more reliable ways to collect these trinkets.

The first time you encounter a unique monster in the world, you are rewarded with coins for doing your best to defeat it. These are generally the toughest enemies in the area, so make sure you level up before challenging them. However, this method only works the first time, so you can’t grind them this way.

If you spot a fight between two monsters while exploring, you’ll be given the choice to help one side against the other. One side will always offer you Nopon Coins as a reward, which you obviously have to choose each time. However, these are random cases, but they are worth paying attention to.

Finally, complete any tasks that offer Nopon Coins as a completion reward. Not every sidequest will give them, but all the ones that include Nopons make them a priority if you can. Fortunately, you can see what rewards each quest offers in your log before you actually complete them.
